"Enlightenment" is not a boolean state—seeing is a spectrum.

You start to recognize the patterns of the universe and the more you saw them throughout your life.

True enlightenment is knowledge not sensory.

The only way to encourage the patterns of the universe is to play the game of life and get as much perspective as possible. Getting perspective means experiencing as many different things as possible.

The more perspective you gain from the universe, the more you will see the universe clearly: its natural laws, the processes happening in it because of these natural laws, the reasons why these natural laws might be useful.

So zoom out as much as possible, and gain perspective by learning from other people, experiencing things yourself, traveling the world, starting projects, or changing the biochemical state of your brain.

The most interesting, highest form of life is able to see the shape of the universe, its natural laws of chaos, birth and death, intelligence and trial and error, and how they all interconnect. But it is also able to see the small gestures, like the joy of the moment a child sees her parents.

If you would only see the large things, you would most likely not be able to do anything in your zoom in reality. Therefore, you need to be a sensor of great dynamic range to also be sensitive to the tiniest signals. Normally, when you are seeing in the dark, you also see during the day.

The purest form of living is to try to become closer to God, which entails both consciously perceiving the universe from as high a level perspective as possible and then creating things you love - creating the technologies and products you love and feel attracted to, spending time with the people you feel most attracted to...
